What Is Rectal Chlamydia ?

Hi Ive been diagnosed with rectal chlamydia (gay male 22 year old). I ve had couple anitbiotics for treatment ( doxycycline bid for 7 days , tested positive again been on levaquin qd for 7 days will finish taking monday) what other choice do i have? from what i know those antibiotic have not helped and being tested positive again. i aint sure about levaquin just yet

Welcome to HCM,
Out of patients treated for rectal chlamydia, 13% have persistently positive results, probably due to reinfection or treatment failure. For radical cure, in addition to antibiotics, immunity of your body plays an important role. If Levaquin fails, you can try single dose of Azithromycin. If both drugs fail to cure, you should get yourself tested for HIV also.
