What Is Remedy For Nail Fungus With Swollen Finger Tip?
I am 36, 5'4'' 180lbs. I seem to have a big toenail fungus that I am treating with Nail RX. The nail bed at the tip is swollen...bubbled and has caused my nail to start to separate. Should I see a Dr. if not painful? Will this go away with fungus treatment? Please advise. Thanks.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Paronychia that is infection of the skin at the side of nail and it can be due to either bacterial or fungal infection and can be due to causes like traumatic injury, deeper cutting of nail, vigorous pedicure etc.. In your case it seems to be most probably be due to bacterial infection and the bubble seems to be pus.. I would suggest you to consult a Podiatrist and get evaluated and he can advise you a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers.. He can advise topical application of antibiotic and steroid ointment.. You can also be advised Incision and Drainage .. Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
