What Is The Alternative Medication For Avil In US?

I have used Avil (pheniramine maleate) tablets, brought with me when I moved from Australia to the US, to help reduce bad cold symptoms at night. I found that they helped me to sleep, especially when I have a cough. Are they available to buy over the counter here in the US?
