My 17 yr old daughter went to the doctor yesterday afternoon and they prescribed Virtussin AC Syrup for her cough, and Amox-Clav. Her cough is so bad she can t sleep and the Virtussin is not working. Can I give her Nightquil or Delsym? Thank you in advance for your advice.
For chronic cough you have to give your daughter tab augmentin 625 mg thrice daily or tab gudcef-cv twice daily after meals with tab montair-lc twice daily after meals with tab rantac or cap omez twice daily empty stomach. For cough and soothing effect you have to give her syrup tusQ-dx or syrup grilinctus 2 tsf three times daily. Also she has to take steam inhalation as it will help her to relieve the congestion in chest if any present. If still cough persists than you have to go for chest x-ray or sputum AFB or other related investigations to rule out the possibility of tuberculosis.
