What Is The Best Medicine For Cold, Headache And Sore Throat?
My husband is taking Z-pac, 2 capsules the first day, then one a day for five more days. This is day 3 and he is no better. He has no temperature, but has a headache and sore throat and just a bad cold ....blows his nose a lot and some coughing. He has Parkinson s Disease and is on several other medications. This is what his PCP told him to take in case he got a cold. We started it on Monday of this week. Could he take something else along with it for his headache, like Ibuprofen?

your husband's symptoms are suggestive of infection caused by streptococci bacteria.
your husband should undergo following test to confirm the infection.
ASO titre
CRP
ESR
culture of throat swab.
it will confirm the strain of bacteria.
meanwhile he should take following medicine
tab coamoxiclav 625mg thrice daily
tab pan40 once daily in morning before breakfast.
tab diclomol one tab twice daily.
three times gargling of mouth with warm salt water.all for 7 day.
