i suffer from sever anxiety disorder caused my childhood abuse i don't leave my house, i had to drop out of college and much more. i was being treated for it. and was prescribed Xanax and Prozac. i lost my insurance so i cant get therapy or my medaction anymore is there anything i can do my life is measurable
I can understand your concern. A lot of sufferers of childhood abuse suffer from anxiety disorder specifically social anxiety disorder in their adulthood. Difficulty in leaving out of home, repeated anxiety etc are part of your anxiety disorder and should be treated with regular use of medicines. Xanax can be used on SOS basis for severe anxiety and Prozac (Fluoxetine) should be used on regular basis for severe anxiety. Prozac helps a lot in reducing the anxiety if used regularly. If insurance is not covering even then you can visit a psychiatrist for its prescription. The drug is not very costly.
Apart from this relaxation exercises, yoga, breathing exercises, behaviour therapy etc are other methods of treatment for anxiety. Behaviour therapy with relaxation exercises have almost same efficacy as medicines. Please visit a psychologist for opinion.
Thanks, Hope this helps. Take care
