What Is The Best Treatment For Hirsutism?

Hi. Im 21. Self diagnosed with PCOS since I was a teen. Im dealing with hirsutism through out my teen which snatched away my confidence. Im not able to wear kind of cloths that expose a little much of chest. I had hairs on my chest and belly! I was thinking to undergo a laser hair removal but im afraid that procedure gonna get wrong and my hair would grow even longer and thicker. Some website stated that, you better get your hormones on track first (balance your estrogen level as well as decreasing my testosterone). I really want to get rid of my chest, belly and face hair. Should i go through a hormon replacement or birth control? Then i go for laser hair removal?

Hi,

It's important to speak with a healthcare provider about your concerns and options for managing hirsutism associated with PCOS. Hormonal imbalances are a common underlying cause of hirsutism, so hormone therapy and/or birth control may be effective in reducing hair growth by regulating hormone levels.

Laser hair removal is a commonly used cosmetic procedure for removing unwanted hair, but it may not be a permanent solution for everyone. Hormonal imbalances can cause new hair growth, which may require additional treatments in the future. Before considering laser hair removal, it's important to address the underlying hormonal imbalances associated with PCOS. This may include lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise, as well as medication to regulate hormone levels. Once hormone levels are under control, laser hair removal may be a good option to reduce hair growth in areas where it is unwanted.

It's important to speak with a healthcare provider about the best course of action for your individual situation. They can help determine the underlying cause of your hirsutism and recommend appropriate treatments, which may include hormone therapy, birth control, or laser hair removal.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
