What Is The Best Treatment For Transient Vertigo?

My husband is 59 years old. For last 4 days has transient vertigo. Today taken to ER at work. All lab work normal except sugar 153 and elevated A1C in the 7.0 range. CT scan showed mild cerebral atrophy not normal for his age. Would an MRA be helpful? (Not MRI) or do we need MRI also. Thanks

Hello,

Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, blood vessels go to a specific place not everywhere in the brain, so, overall atrophy is not from a vessel generally.

MRA's have zero risks and almost no discomfort. There can be blood flow issues to the small areas involving balance. The MRI techs would have to look at the particular place. There isn't a better test and diabetics have vessel and nerve problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
