What Is The Bump On The Outside Of My Upper Jaw?

I have a bump on the outside of my upper jaw that is the same colour as my gums, and slightly painful. The dentist removed it and it grew back. I flossed it off by accident, it bled a little, and it grew back. It has not changed in size, but won t seem to go away. I was thinking it might be a skin tag? My dentist doesn t know what it is, but doesn t seem to be worried. Should I be getting a second opinion?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

Yes, I would advise you to go for a second opinion from a maxillofacial surgeon or a general surgeon who after a clinical examination of the growth, might go for some kind of biopsy to arrive at a particular diagnosis. Further management would depend on the reports.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
