I have had a small bump on top of my toe just below the nail for a really long time ... I thought it was just irrated by shoes I had worn but I stopped wearing those shoes and it didn t go away. Then today the skin was flaking off on the bump, looking whitish and I pressed it and blood and pus came out. Now I have a small open hole in my toe there.
Bump on top of the toe are commonly corns formed due to friction and pressure by rubbing against the inside of the shoes or foot wear that is not very comfortable. Your corn is discharging pus because it is infected. You are suggested to clean it with warm water, after cleaning it, keep it submerged in fresh water or Epsom salt water. Once the skin becomes soft and wound clean, you should wipe it with a towel, dry it. Apply ointment Clotrimazole or Neosporin. Use corn pads or corn plasters to protect it. You can take a course of Augmentin to help faster and better healing. Avoid taking sugary products and cut down on carbohydrates. Avoid addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
