What Is The Burning And Pain At The Site Of Injection?

Hi I am a 28 year old female. I got a painkiller shot in my buttocks about 12 days ago, but the injection site still hutrs a lot. It is a severe tearing kind of a pain that goes down to my butt cheek. Is this something serious and should I see a doctor for this?
