What Is The Cause And Treatment For Blocked Ears?

I work as a flight attendant! My right ear has been blocked for 15 days now. I ve been to two GPs, and my doctor just Monday. My doctor assumes it is Eustachian tube dysfunction. Iv been prescribed to beconase Aqueous spray ! My symptoms are fullness/blockage in right ear, muffled/dull hearing, when I breath through my nose I can hear scratching noises, and I have no pain. Iv tried oltrivine, sudafed, otovent and valsalva manoeuvre - nothing has worked. Is this really Eustachian tube dysfunction. And What else can I do? I ve been off work a week with no improvement. Started my beconase Monday. When can I get back flying?

Hi, thanks for your query.
In my opinion, you might be having a eustachian tube dysfunction causing negative pressure in the middle ear leading to middle ear effusion.
Please consult with your doctor and get evaluated properly. u may need myringotomy and grommet insertion to improve your middle ear status. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
