What Is The Cause And Treatment For Irregular Periods?

hi, i am having irregular periods.once it was started and longed for 20 days almost then i consulted a doctor then they gave me one medicine, with that it was stopped n next mnth got my periods regular but now the last date was 11 july but for this month still i have not got my periods.pls suggest

Understand your concern
Following are the causes of irregular period in your case:
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance.
Endometrial dysplasia/cancer
Polycystic ovarian syndroe/ovarian cyst
Thyroid disorder, fibroid and adenomyosis, pelvic inflammatory disease.
In this type of case I advice to go for following investigation to diagnose above causes:
Reproductive hormone analysis, thyroid hormone analysis, USG scan, endometrial biopsy, ovarian follicle study.
Treatment will depend on the cause :
In Hormonal dysfunction and PCOS period can be regularise by giving oral contraceptive pill or progesterone only pill.
Medroxyprogetsrone acetate injection can be give to induce the period.
Bleeding amount can be reduce by tranexaemic acid.
Endometrial dyspalsia and cancer treatment will depend on the severity and stage of disease. (specific treatment is required).
Avoid stress, do regular exercise, take healthy diet, fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables.
So consult the gynaecologist and get the investigations done and take specific treatment.
