Hi,
Irregularity of the cycles can have several causes ranging from prolonged natural cycles, hormonal imbalances as observed in hyperprolactinemia, polycystic ovaries, thyroid disorders and so on, infections, use of certain medications, stress, weight disturbances etc. You would need a thorough evaluation including a proper clinical exam, complete hormone profile, glucose tolerance test, serum DHEAS levels, antral follicular counts, AMH levels, complete blood picture and urinalysis. Maintenance of a healthy weight, proper diet and regular exercise are a must. Hope this helps.
