What Is The Cause And Treatment For Leukoplakia Inside Cheek?

Hi Dr, recently I have noticed that I have got leukoplakia on the inside of my left cheek. I have also found a hard lymph node at the back of my neck and have noticed several small bumps on the inside of my lower lip which are not visible but obvious when touched

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to HCM!
I can appreciate your concern for the leukoplakia.
Most common causes are: Smoking, Chewing tobacco and alcohol
Other causes: biting the cheek rough, uneven teeth, improperly fitted dentures & Epstein-Barr virus infection (hair leukoplakia).

Treatment: It usually resolves on its own within a few weeks after the source of irritation is removed. However, if your patch is particularly painful or looks suspicious, your dentist may order tests to rule out: oral cancer
AIDS
It can be removed either by your general dentist or by an oral surgeon.

Hairy leukoplakia requires treatment with an antiviral medication.

I hope your query has been explained to your satisfaction.
Kindly give your feed back with thanks.

Prevention is better than cure. Take care
