What Is The Cause And Treatment For Problem In Swallowing Saliva?

While sleeping, my younger sister who is 8 years old has a huge problem with swallowing her saliva. She makes disgusting sounds with it, swishing it back and forth in her mouth before taking a huge gulp. She does this every few minutes and it s driving me insane. What can I do?
