What Is The Cause And Treatment For Severe Itching On Ankles?

I have had a very badly burning itch on my ankles for two months I have tried everything and it will not heal. I ve been to the ER for it where they looked at it for about 20 seconds and prescribed me bacitracin ointment. I was a little upset because I knew it was going to be expensive to go there out of my pocket and they truly did nothing to help me. The itch is unbearable the only thing that sooths is scratching I know that s the worst thing to do but believe me it s the worst pain I ve ever had and I ve broken many bones in my life. I think if I could sooth the itch it would heal but I need to know what it is so I can treat it. Please help me

As you have mentioned in your history that it is clear that you are suffering from some sort of fungal infection. For this first of all you have to take some antibiotic preferably cap doxycycline 100 mg twice daily after meals for at least 5 days along with tab levocetrizine or tab fexofenadine twice daily after meals for itching with tab rantac or cap omez twice daily empty stomach. Secondly, you can also take some anti-fungal medicine like tab fole 150 mg once daily in night for at-least 5 days. In addition to all above you have to use clobit-gm cream or valnerate-c cream for local application. Last but not the least, avoid scratching of local part, apply vaselline or coconut oil as it will be quite helpful in reducing the severity of itching.
