For 3 weeks now, I am having itchy throat into which I would eventually cough for relief - white phlegm is noted. I tried bendryl and anti-llergy, yet were only for short relief. I have post nasal drip since I was a teen-ager. Since this itchy throat occured, I seldom have the nasal drip. The itchiness get worse when I am working as a practical nurse in the hospital. Right now, I am at home, it settles a bit. It's like a roller coaster up and down, but it persists. I have been to a medical doctor, and he dignosed it as part of my nasal drip. He prescribed nasal wash and warm steam inhalation 3x a day. I am now searching for more conservative treatment.
Hi, From history it seems that you might be having allergic rhinitis giving you this problem. When ever you come in contact with this allergen, it gives you sneezing or nasal drip and irritation in throat as well. Try to find the allergen and avoid it. Avoid more cold or dusty atmosphere or scent or spray. Take some anti-allergic, decongestant tablet as and when required. Take warm water or vicks steam inhalation. Ok and take care.
