What Is The Cause For Painful Spots Along Parietal Suture Followed By Migraine Headache?
Hi, I have painful spots on my head along the parietal suture and when these bumps appear it is most certain that I will get a migraine headache. I have CT scans after CT scans and I m told they can t see anything or feel these bumps but they are painful and go along with all my migraine headaches. thanks Billie
the migrainous headache is the most notorious of all headaches with it varied presentation...you are - I would dare say- "lucky", because you have a warning sign in the form of these tender spots along parietal suture..these are nothing but areas of scalp which become sensitive and tender some time before actual migraine attack comes. It is similar to people who have "visual aura" or some have "some bad smell around them" preceding the attack.
These tender spots ( also many times present all over the scalp where the patient had headache) are areas of dilated blood vessels...which throb during the actual headache.
So, as all test are normal, I would advice you that as soon as you have these tender swellings - take a good pain killer, by that you will either abort the headache or reduce its intensity..
Wish you good health Dr. Manisha Gopal
