What Is The Cause For The Bleeding And Pain Around The Vagina Area After A Surgery For The Removal Of Cyst And Ovary?

2 weeks ago I had undergone a surgery to remove a 9 cm cyst and right ovary. D& C was done as well merena inserted. Pain is gradually subsiding. Stitches(all four) have healed on the outside though feels sore inside. There was not much bleeding in the first few days after surgery but about 2 days ago bleeding started- still on but is not heavy. A bit painful around the vagina area sometimes. Why the pain and bleeding? Could it be periods(only been 3 weeks) but why the pain? How many weeks of leave do you think is necessary before I can go back to work?

I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. Bleeding could be due to your period flow, which has started little early from hormonal disturbances, not to worry. Some amount of pain common in initial few months after insertion.
Not to worry.
If your bleeding doesn't stop in a week or pain doesn't subside in few cycles. consult your doctor for examination.
