What Is The Cause For Tightness In My Chest With The Constant Need To Clear My Throat After A Sextuple Bypass And Diabetes?

My name is Anne-Marie, Dr. Bhatti. I am an active woman, and I have had diabetes for 51 years, I am 57 now. I had a sextuple bypass at the age of 40. I am not overweight, am on an insulin pump, and check my blood sugars 10x a day. I exercise on my treadmill for two miles a day. For the last month, I have been feeling that scary tightness in my chest again, with the constant need to clear my throat. I do see my endocrinologist at the end of February, but I need some reassurance that this is not another bypass surgery issue. Thank you so much for your input.

hi, do you feel it while you are exercising or at other times? if exercise is bringing the tightness, you may have to slow down or stop it before you get evaluated by cardiologist. second bypass is an unlikely possibility as there are many other options now. Hope this helped.
