I have a tapping noise in my right ear on and off for the past two months .The frequency is about 170 beats per minute. It has now been constant for the past 24 hours. I seen my Doctor who examined my ear and found that everything seemed normal. What could be the cause. I have had a lot of worry over this past two months but that has been resolved.
this is tinnutus it can be due to ear block in external ear.drum perforation ,middle ear infection bones of middle ear as your doctor has examined it is nothing all these causes are ruled out the next possibility of nerve damage which take sound to brain or cochlear inflamations fluid imbalance or area of brain involved which represents the ear yo need to investigate for internal ear disease and treat accordingly ct scan of internal ear needed and reconsult your ent doctor
