What Is The Cause Of Bloating?

I had unprotected sex at the end of September, a few days after my period. I took Plan B within 12 hours, five days later had a very heavy period for the whole week. It's now November 7th and my period should be coming up within a week or two due to affects of the EC. My stomach is looking and feeling weird, bloated and heavy. I have period sypmtoms but I've had protected since ever since I've taken it.

Hi,

Bloating symptoms can be due to gastro-esophageal reflux, mild intestinal infection, food intolerance. Anti-foaming agents like simethicone can be used thrice a day to reduce bloating. Proton pump inhibitors along with antibiotics may be required in case of colitis. Probiotics increase the helpful bacteria in the intestine and prevent most of the gastric symptoms.

Chronic intestinal disorders like irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis and lactose intolerance should also be ruled out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
