What Is The Cause Of Buzzing In Ear After Stopping Trazadone,and What Should I Do For This?

so, i am on effexor 150mg, and got transferred from trazadone 150mg, to vyvanse 30 mg that i just started this morning... i was told to stop taking the trazadone yesterday anfter being on it 3 months roughly, and i did not take it last night, last night i was trying to get to sleep and my ear started chirping like a beetler in the summer, the it switched noise to a constant buzzing as if you were standing beside a transformer on a hydro pole, it went on for hours, then continued this morning for about an hour, and this morning i took the first vyvance 30mg... but even now, its not so bad, doesnt feel normal tho and has a kind of blank feeling... what would you suggest is wrong? what should i do about it?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have buzzing in ear after stopping trazadone which can be cause by many factors like stress , temporomandibular joint problem , wisdom tooth , cervical spondolysis , withdrawal effects of certain medicine as it can also be probable cause in your case and increase blood pressure. Need not to panic about it. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like audiometery , CT scan ,MRI , low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like hearing loss , exposure to loud noises , earwax build-up , middle ear infection. Doctor may prescribe drug like eprisone , anti inflammatory , may refer you to to cardiologist . Doctor may also prescribe ginkgo biloba . For now do light exercises like meditation and yoga .
