What Is The Cause Of Crackling Noise In Upper Nose?
what is causing the crackling noise in my upper nose? I can breath normally , I don t have a cold. for the past about 4 months, when I m trying to go to sleep, my nose and sinuses make noise and I can t sleep. I have tried propping myself up on an extra pillow and try to sleep on my back which seems to help, but I can t sleep on my back all night.
As per your query you are experiencing crackling noises in nose specially when laying down . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query but in your case it seems to me that there are two probable reason :-
- Firstly the noises are due to a condition known as eustachian tube dysfunction , which usually occur when the upper respiratory track infection left untreated and eustachian tueb get blocked due to infection .
Secondly noises can be due to sinusitis and congestion .
I would suggest you to take steam 2-3 times daily and consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test , CT scan or X-ray to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) along with decongestant and mucolytic agent .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
