Hi. I have a 16 year old son that has been complaining about being dizzy. It comes and goes and has been going on for a while now. He had his eyes checked and the eye doctor gave him glasses and said that it should help with the dizziness as he had astigmatism (sp?). However, it has been a month now and they do not seem to be helping with that. Any idea what could be going on?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dizziness. The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, inflammation within the inner ear , meniere's disease , acoustic neuroma , sinusitis and multiple sclerosis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult with ENT specialist for proper checkup so that there will not be any further complication. Doctor may order certain test like CT scan , MRI , rotatory chairtest or audiometry test to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe anti emetic drug, sedatives , antibiotics (gentamycin) , decongestants, drain sinus and prescribe some ear aid. You should avoid bending forward , take steam , drink ginger tea thrice a day and do light exercises daily
Hope your concern has been resolved.
