What Is The Cause Of Frequent Sneeezing?

My son is 6 years old. For the last 2 years or more he sneezes just about very morning 5-6 times within about 2-3 minutes of waking. He will sneeze throughout the day possibly up to 50 times a day. There seems to be household triggers such as playing on the carpet, downcomforters, and possible foods. Besides the regular morning sneezing some common triggers are being bumped in the nose and sunlight. We live in NJ and seasonal pollen is harsh but only contributes mildly to his daily sneezes. He not on any medications, has never had any medications, vaccinations or treatment for any ailments in his lifetime. We have removed carpets and rugs in all but two rooms in the house, which seemed to had an effect.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
The sneezes most probably could be because of the dust in houshold.
You can use a nasal saline spray which would give a wash inside the nose and not allow the allergen to sit inside the nose and trigger the reaction .
Secondly you should try with monteleukast and antihistaminic oral tablets, it will decrease the reaction produced by the allergens.
If there is no relief then you should get done a x ray of nasopharynx to see for the presence of adenoids ie tonsil behind the nose which if enlarged would provoke more of the allergy. In such condition you should get them removed surgically.
If no adenoid on xray then you could give him nasal steroid sprays.
