What Is The Cause Of Having Red Circle On Bottom Of Foot And Itching Occasionally?

Every once in a while (maybe onset by walking a lot) I get a red circle on the bottom if my foot . Sometimes it s in the middle of my heel, right now it s on the middle and side of my heel. The size is smaller then a penny. And it itches when I walk or touch that area.. Any ideas?

Hi,

You seem to have developed an eczematous skin disease.
You should avoid applying any kind of skin irritants like dettol, spirit over it.
Use good regular moisturizers over the area.
You can also use oil to keep the area well moisturized.

You might need to apply a topical steroid cream over the affected area twice a day for few days.
Take some oral antihistamines along.
See a nearby dermatologist if the condition tends to persist despite this therapy.
You might need a course of oral steroids.
Avoid the use of plastic and rubber footwear as these tend to increase eczema feet.

Hope it helps,

Dr Geetika Paul.
