What Is The Cause Of Hives?

Hi, I noticed that when I had a cold I took Nyquil I had an allergic reaction I broke out in hives. I suffer from Sinuses and I took Alka-Seltzer plus for severe allergy sinus congestion & headache and also broke out in hives. Could it be the Acetaminophen I am allergic to?

Hi, Welcome to health care magic forum.
As you describe, when you take nyquil for cold, you will have hives, sinusitis, and head ache.
As you describe, you feel the symptoms because the drug nyquil didn't suit to controle your cold. Because it would have got the infection, or esinophelia. They should be treated completely.
As you said, there may be allergy to one of the components of the nyquil like acetaminophen, pseudoephidrine, or some other componants.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, phenylephrine, paracetamol, and di ethyl carbamazepine.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.Thank you.
