just turned 65 - female, no health problems, no medications except for vitamins. My blood pressure, just taken, is 133/94 which seems higher to me than last taken. For 2 days I have had an intermittent jaw pain, headache over my right side of face - has occurred just a few times - just a short shooting pain. Any answers?
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. Intermittent short shooting jaw pain & headache over one side of face -can be due to Trigeminal Neuralgia which can cause pain that feels like an electric shock in forehead and scalp,in addition to jaw pain. Another possibility is sinusitis which can cause pain in the face including the jaw. Other symptoms of sinusitis include headaches. Another common cause is ear Infections.Jaw pain can actually be referred pain from an ear infection. Headache can occur in the adjacent temporal area. There is also something called a neurovascular toothache which causes intermittent, throbbing pain that feels like a toothache and may radiate to the jaw, face & scalp.
