What Is The Cause Of Lack Of Saliva In My Mouth When On Antihistamines?
Hello there. I have an acute soreness under my left jaw line. It really does not hurt unless I poke that specific spot (outside of my jaw/neck, not inside my mouth near the jaw). I do not feel any lump or anything "solid" when I poke the spot. It is very tender when I push it but again, only in that small spot. Could I be getting an infection?
I do have a duct in the left side of my cheek that has protruded out in the last week too. It is very tender and I know it can be a result of the antihistamines I take and a lack of saliva in the mouth (or so I read).
I am curious if the two could be related? Do I have a blocked duct in my cheek (near my molars) that has now caused a duct in my lower jaw line to get infected?

thanks for your query,
i have gone through your question, the dryness and the tenderness is because of the adverse effects of the antihistamines...definitely both the conditions are interrelated... you can stop the antihistamine, consume lot of liquid, keep sipping the water, you can also try artificial salivary substitutes like wet mouth gel, apply the gel 3-4 times near the duct openings...
