What Is The Cause Of Painful, Oozing Bumps On Bottom Of Buttocks?

22 Female. I have a group of painful seeping bumps on the bottom of my right buttcheek. I plucked any hairs I saw in it with a mirror and a pair of tweezers but in the cracks where they are oozing I don't see any other possible ingrown hairs. Also not herpes. I had a Pap smear and tests yesterday. In which my ObGyN didn't even acknowledge the bumps .

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of bacterial infection of the hair follicles/furuncle.

If I was your treating doctor i would have started you on oral antibiotics (penicillin group or cephalosporin group) for a week.

A topical antibacterial ointment like 2% mupirocin twice daily would help in faster resolution.

An OTC pain killer like ibuprofen twice daily would help you relieve the pain

take care
regards
