What Is The Cause Of Periods After Taking Pills To Delay The Periods?
Hi, I took 2 lots of microgynon pills together in order not to be on my period for a family wedding. I have come on my period again on time. However, it is not like my normal red blood period, it is brown and has a fair amount of mucus. Should I be worried?
By taking Microgynon that are progesterone pills to delay the periods you have interfered with the normal reproductive cycle. So, the period you get after stopping the tablets will be withdrawal bleeding. Compared with normal menstrual periods the withdrawal bleeding can be lighter sometimes. Brown color, usually indicates the collected blood in the uterus when it is mixed with the vaginal discharge that will present as brownish mucus discharge.
According to your history no need to worry for the present symptoms. But, as repeated intake of progesterone tablets to alter the menstrual periods can disturb the menstrual cycles and can lead to irregularity. So, better to be cautious in the future when using the tablets.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
