What Is The Cause Of Recurring Headache Which Is Not Curing Even After Taking Claritin And Flonase?

my husband has had headaches every afternoon for two months. pain is either in back of head or side. it hurts to shake his head side to side. saw a dr, was given antibiotics and they helped initially, then did not. Was then told to use claritin and flonase...also helped, but now headache has returned even with those meds. could this be something serious?

Hi, thank you for writing on healthcare Magic.
With this presentation, I think he has a type of headache called tension headache. It is caused by tightened muscles in the back of the neck and scalp resulting from inappropriate rest, overexertion, stress, anxiety and fatigue just to name a few. Treatment may involve taking pain relievers, muscle relaxants or antidepressants.
In addition to that, it is also important to see an eye specialist to rule out any accommodation problem.

I hope that answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. We will be delighted to answer more questions from you.
I wish you good health
