What Is The Cause Of Red Scab Behind The Ear And The Small Bump Under It?
Hi, I have a red scab on my lymph node dirctly behind my ear. And another small bump under it..they are pea sized and the second one doesn t have a scab on it. They aren t really painful its just the one with the scab kinda hurts when I touch it because I opened it a little to see if it was a scratch. Do you think I m ok?
I can understand your concern. The area behind the ear contains lymph nodes which are vessels that collect the infection, debris etc. that drain from ear and head & neck region.
These lymph nodes swell when there is infection in the ear and they become painful. I would advise you not to try to prick it yourself and visit an ENT specialist to examine your ear for presence of infection. If infection is present, then you may need to take antibiotics to treat it.
If you develop pain before you get an appointment with the ENT specialist, you can take Ibuprofen 400 mg for pain relief.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
