What Is The Cause Of Secreation In The Mouth?

My husband secreation-excessive- is really a problem. I can not kiss him without receiving a mouth full of that secreation. Now with his allergies, the problem is worse. Is there anything short of medication he can use. He does not understand how it can concern me or anyone else because it seems natural to him.

Hello!
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Excessive saliva can be caused by either an increase in your body's production of saliva or a decrease in your ability to swallow or keep saliva in your mouth. The most common cause excessive saliva is gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) which is a condition when the acid stomach moves up into esophagus and up to throat. It cause heartburn, chest pain, excessive saliva production ct.The diagnosis is confirmed by upper endoscopy and relieved is obtained by using PPI drugs (Pantoprazol).
Other causes might be liver diseases, pancreatitis, oral infection, some medications, enlarged adenoids.

You should talk to your husband and make him understand that this thing is a problem for you.He should consult an ENT doctor and get examined in order to sort out the right cause. The treatment will depend on the right cause.

Hope my answer has helped.
Take care
