What Is The Chronic Pain Below My Middle Toe After An Injury?

I jumped off of my kitchen counter and felt a pain in my foot. Still having pain 2 months later. The pain is in one specific spot .... right below my middle toe. Wondering if it's a stress fracture or a broken toe in the lower part. Don't really want to go to the doctor and pay for them to tell me just to rest it. I power walk and that seems to make the pain the worst. I know I should take time off from power walking. If it is a broken toe would they put me in a flat walking type shoe? I'm 48, 135 pounds and very healthy.
