I have just come from the nurse who has seen my test results from my urine and says i am sensitive to Citorbacter-diversus. What is the most common name known for this and will my partner also have this? i have recently suffered a miscarriage at 6 weeks, could this have contributed to my loss?

The test result shows that you are harboring urinary tract infection with bacteria called Citrobacter diversus.
Infection with Citrobacter is uncommon and is common in immunocompromised individuals.
Thus, it is important to assess your immune status and get a HIV test also.
Miscarriage can occur if infection reaches the gestational sac or the membranes.
In case your partner is also suffering from similar symptoms of urinary tract infection, he should also be tested.
Antibiotic susceptibility should be done to select the most appropriate antibiotic effective against the bacteria.
