What Is The Cure For Hard Hair Bumps On Both Temples?
I have hair bumps on both of my temples. I crew my hair and use to get a few, but now they have spread into what i think are carbuncles. I have tried antibiotics, different creams, alcohol, peroxide. When they dry up they get hard, but will not go away. This has lasted for 3 months now. I do wear caps and I do keep them clean. I am only using antibacterial soap and am now using an antifungal cream as of yesterday, I am sure this is ingrown hairs but i cannot stop it, Any suggestions. thanks
I would advice that you avoid all oily or graesy hair products like hair oil till they resolve.Wash your scalp daily or alternate days with Cetrimide 5% solution. It acts as an antiseptic and loosens and removes crusts/discharge
If i was you treating doctor i would have asked you to take an oral antibiotic for a week (penicillin group e.g Amoxycillin in combination with clavulanic acid).
Topical antibiotics like either mupirocin can be applied but sometimes alone they are not enough because they cannot reach the depth of infection, therefore the requirement for oral antibiotic.
An OTC pain killer like ibuprofen can be taken once or twice daily for pain relief.
take care regards
