What Is The Cure For Sun Burn?

On Monday I got badly sunburnt on the backs of my lowers legs. Starting just above my knees to my ankles. Since then it has been very hard to walk and whenever I do it feel like my legs are cramping. The skin is very tight and swollen. What treatments can I use to help with my legs and how long is will my legs be cramping for?

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic.

Acute sunburn is painful. As a treating doctor I would have suggested you to take a short course of an oral steroid e.g prednisolone, once daily for a week. Steroids would help in bringing about rapid relief from pain/discomfort, redness, swelling etc

A topical moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone twice daily for a week would also help.

Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen, throughout the day.
