Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain it seems that loss of hearing is due to perforated ear drum and as you have a history of having ear infections since childhood, chronic ear infections can lead to perforation of ear drum..
The thick smelly discharge seems to be pus that is formed secondary to infection.
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
He can advise you to take antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers, decongestants and
steroids along with antibiotic ear drops..
Ear tubes or grommets can be advised to be placed to ear in
drainage and relieve pressure..
In case if the perforation does not resolve with medication surgical correction by
Tympanoplasty can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
