What Is The Developmental Outcomes Of Children Born After IVF?

Hi, I am 32 years old. Married 6 years ago and we have been trying from past 3.5 years. 2013 December, my AMH was 1.15 and my gynic suggested OVARES tablet. I thought it is to improve the AMH levels, but later I realised that AMH is related to ovarian reserve and that it cannot be improved. But a few days back I got my AMH tested again and now it is 2.0. So, my doubts are - 1. Why did the AMH value go up, because what I read is with age AMH drops. We have been trying from past 3.5 years with no result, I have got my Laproscopy also done in December 2014. Still no result. All my reports are normal but for this AMH(which now looks normal, ofcourse). My husband s reports are also perfect. Doctors term this as unexplained infertility. One of the doctors suggested us to go for IVF. 2. Is there a way I can conceive naturally? 3. If IVF is the only option, will the child be as healthy as a child born normally? Lastly, my thyroid was 4.9 when I got my blood tests during Laproscopy. So, I was suggested thyronorm which I started using since December 2014. After a period of 2 months it came down to 2.3 but the doctor suggested me to continue using thyronorm 25mcg. But my recent TSH value is 0.5 which looks way too low. 4. So, should I stop using thyronorm? First place, one of my relatives who is a gynic said I should not have started using thyronorm with 4.9. So when exactly should I use thyronorm and why does the thyroid level go so down in just 6 months? Is there a way I can control my thyroid levels without using medicines? Because using thyronorm shows negative impact. Thank you,

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

In IVF both sperm and ovum are tested for their excellency. The hormonal support given is sufficient for good implantation of fertilized ovum in uterus. Hence, chances of fetal development are good provided maternal health is perfect and she takes prescribed medicines regularly as well.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
