General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Mintop or Mintop Forte contains the active ingredient 'minoxidil' which is a vasodilator type of medication. The solution is used to stimulate hair regrowth and to slow hair loss in men with male pattern alopecia, hereditary alopecia and common male baldness. It is most effective for male patients under 40 years of age whose hair loss is recent.
Mintop contains minoxidil concentration of 2% and Mintop Forte contains minoxidil concentration of 5%.
It is recommended to use 5% in gel or foam form and needs to be applied twice daily on dry hair. You need to have patience as it takes quite a long duration to appreciate the results.
With regular use, your hair fall will reduce by 3 months and new hair growth will start appearing only by 6 months to one year.
Hope the information provided is clear and would be helpful.
All the best.
