What Is The Dosage For Duphaston Tablet At 8 Weeks Of Pregnancy?
Hi .... I would like to ask for my cousin , she is pregnant in her 8th week , and she has to travel next Wednesday by plane , a journey of about two to three hours , she has been advised to take_ duphaston_ tablets. How should she take it ? and how should she start and for how long should she take it ? thanks for your time .
Duphaston is similar to the natural hormone progesterone which helps to maintain pregnancy. It is advisable to take it after direct prescription by your treating physician along with the dosage. The doses usually prescribed are twice daily for 2-3 days and then maintenance dose of once daily thereafter. The tablets are to be taken as long there is a threat. Further continuation of doses is again at the discretion of the treating physician. It is generally not recommended to take this for very short term [like 1-2 days ] as it will hardly have an effect.
I am sorry and I understand that I am not very specific in answering this question, but the cases need to be individualized and I need other history like number of pregnancies and previous obstetric histories etc to give more concrete recommendations. So please excuse me for this.
I suggest that she should see a doctor after that or consult the doctor that prescribed the drug for decision regarding continuing it further.
Hope this was helpful. Thanks for using HCM. Dr Madhuri Bagde Consultant Ob Gy.
