What Is The Effect Of A Dislodged Screw In My Foot After A Bunion Surgery?

I had bunion surgery back in November and now I found out that the screw that is in my foot is dislodged and is causing pain in top of my foot and in my ankle. THe screw needs to be surgical removed. WHat happens when the screw is no longer in my toe? Will my toe still be as straight as it is now?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

Yes, as the surgery was done few months back, the joints might have got fused or got fixed in that particular position. So if the screw needs to be removed now, it won't cause much problem. However, the decision has to be taken by a consultation with the surgeon who operated on you.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
