What Is The Effect Of High Blood Pressure In Pregnancy?

My wife is 26 yrs old , is pregnant now. Her LMP - Dec 15 2010 ... Her Height 156cm , Weight - 74 Kg ...1 week before, swelling found on her face and body...and got admitted in hosp by saying that high blood pressure (130-90 , 140 - 90 etc) and Albumin content in urine.They tested blood , and found nothing to worry with Kidneys becos of albumin content.Now they're going to do the 24 hr urine test. Till 34 - 35 weeks of pregnancy , her pressure was always normal. After scanning , the doctor said, baby is not having 2.5 Kg and will wait for one more week for inducing. Does it make any problem / abnormalities for the baby? How the high blood pressure/ Albumin content will affect the baby's health?

I really appreciate your concern for your wife, if this is pregnancy induced hypertension and albumin so this is happens some time in certain cases, generally baby does not have any impact but some time this could cause low birth weight, in very severe case could cause miscarriage or early labor, but this happens if hypertension is too high, hope this information helps, take care.
