What Is The Effect Of Marijuana On BP Of A Person?

Can I ask the effects of marijuana on blood pressure and blood thickness (in regards to plaquing, clot and thrombosis)... I asking about the actual plant and chemicals within...not anything about smoking(it or anything) or legality or psychological effects, religious effects, personal opinions.... I am an educated person but I struggling to find information that isn t either from anti drugs lobby, demands payment to private company, or keeps repeating the danger of smoking or mental health..even my cardiologist only knew the smoking aspect as it a illegal drug..he kept going on about how cocaine increases bp but wouldn t be drawn to any answer on cannabis(as in wouldn t even say it bad) except to say smoking bad Once again... Cannabis does it thicken blood and how does it affect blood pressure... ..NOT here for a drugs discussion just a simple question ...registered HCP answers appreciated

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, there are multiple autonomic issues over heart, circulating blood vessels and coagulation parameters with the use of Marijuana. The blood pressure changes are reflected with the higher range as systolic BP elevation through receptor mediated adrenergic drive. The long term use might be of concern with platelet function disturbances via effects over liver metabolism and others.
