What Is The Effect Of Taking Medicine During Pregnancy?
Hi. I am 37 weeks pregnant and I took 20 mg adderall 3 days in a row. I've been off of my meds since I found out I was pregnant. I go for my pat's in 3 days and have my csection in 4 days. Willthe baby have withdrawl and will they test me for drugs at my pat's?

HI, - Adderall has half life of 10 hours & clearance from blood it takes about 7 days ( in cases high doses are being taken for a long time & with a high dose. - Adderall taken in therapeutic dose for a short time is not likely to cause any bad effects on baby. Still, yes if withdrawal symptoms like irregular beats are seen in new born.. they may suspect & test baby for it. -If you have been planned for LSCS in 4 days , you should avoid taking the drug any more. Similarly Adderall is known to be secreted in breast milk. So you should consult your psychologist for change to safer drug./ stop taking it & go for psychotherapy as per need. Thanks.
