What Is The Expected Recovery Time After Undergoing ACDF Surgery?

I m scheduled for ACDF surgery in two weeks. I know the surgeon can t make a recommendation on return to work at this time. What s a typical return to work period? I m 58, male, and can restrict my duties to an office. Also,how long until I can work 8 hours. Just assume the surgery is successful with no complications

Hi,

Usual recovery time after ACDF surgery is 4-6 weeks. To be comfortable for complete returning to your regular office work may take something like 3 months or so. Also, you may have to wear neck braces till your spine completely heal or fuse. It will immobilize your spine and will help in healing as well as relieving your pain. Braces may have to be worn for a period, which may range from 4 weeks to 6 months.
