What Is The Healing Period After Removal Of Fingers Due To Accident?

I had surgery in May to remove 4 fingers on my left hand, due to a bad accident. I weaned myself off of oxycodone, but still taking gabapentin. When do you think the pain might finally go away where I don t have to take medicine every 6 hrs? Thank you Gloria Morgan YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi
you had surgery in may, by this time your pain would have gone
please consult your doctor for a nerve entrapment or a phantom limb pain
i would suggest you here some local remedies for pain relief
1.Heat application
2.Biofeedback to reduce muscle tension
3.Relaxation techniques
4.Massage of the amputation area
5.Surgery to remove scar tissue entangling a nerve
6.Physiotherapy
7. TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) of the stump
8.Neurostimulation techniques such as spinal cord stimulation or deep brain stimulation
9.Medications such as pain-relievers, antidepressants, beta-blockers could be of some help
thanks for using Health care magic
